As the White House said, this project “aims to help researchers find new ways to treat, cure, and even prevent brain disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, and traumatic brain injury.” The funds to do this work will come from the National Institutes of Health, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and the National Science Foundation.?
"While this effort is not targeted at brain cancer,the results of the research will inform and enrich the work that we and our colleagues are doing to find brain cancer treatments," says Max Wallace, CEO of Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure.? "An increased understanding of the biology and functioning of the brain will enable brain cancer researchers to do their work in a more fully developed context. We applaud the effort and look forward to being able to integrate the results from this effort into our important work in brain cancer."
